So apparently, there aren’t any other interesting cities (besides New York of course) that receive profuse and glorious prose like Charleston, South Carolina. Not to get me wrong, I have loved the food I’ve sampled there, but how about some variety? or if the NYTimes refuses to move away from Charleston, how about some variety in the restaurants they mention?
Here is a simple search concerning how many times they have mentioned Hominy Grill (since 1981). Do they talk about any other restaurant this much, EVER!??? Even if Hominy Grill’s food was the best tasting food in all mankind (which it’s not), it still should not get this much press.
Edit: On Wednesday, Tyler mentioned the NYTimes article and had the chef of Hominy Grill on!!!! At least Tyler mentioned Magnolia and that group of restaurants. but jeeze louise.

[...] I have my own issues with the restaurant(spamming MUSC more than once), but now we have proof something odd is going on here. [...]

Ah yes, Matt Lee and Ted Lee, the two authors of the many articles, went to high school with the chef. They are all really great friends… it’s definately a bit fishy.

Not to mention half the articles are written by the Lee boys. Dean & Deluca of southern food my ass.

no no, not Dean & Deluca: William Sonoma of Southern Goodies. I guess that means there things are overpriced, and you might as well get them from the more economical Sur La Table.
